YMCA of Greater Seattle Program Director of Youth Development in Shoreline, Washington

Overview

Job Summary

We are looking for responsible leaders who are excited by the prospect of developing and leading theoperations of our youth education, childcare and youth enrichment programs. You will be the key player developing ourprograms working with a team to provide the best programing and services to participants. As the Youth Development Program Directoryou will lead and develop our elementary school age programs and staff throughout the school year and our summer day camp programs during the summer.

Responsibilities

  1. Establishes new program activities and expands program(s) within the community in accordance with the Association and branch strategic plans.

  2. Develops and manages the budgets related to the position. Meets fiscal objectives.

  3. Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates and supervises assigned staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Provides development and leadership.

  4. Compiles program statistics and provides data and reports as required for assigned program(s). Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program(s).

  5. Provides leadership and support for branch management team, annual fund raising campaign, and volunteer committees/boards as assigned.

  6. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools and agencies related to assigned programs.

  7. Develops, produces and distributes program information necessary to promote assigned programs, in accordance with branch marketing plans.

  8. Ensures that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are in compliance with YMCA standards, all relevant regulations and other applicable standards.

  9. Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development evaluations and ongoing training of staff.

  10. Ensures upkeep of related facilities and equipment.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in relevant program areaor equivalent education/experience.

  2. Two years or moreyears of experience with staff and volunteer supervision, program development, budget management.

  3. Experience and knowledge with youth behavior management and child abuse prevention.

  4. Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.

  5. Ability to visit sites and community organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supervising multiple program sites.

  • Have completed forty five college credits in approved school-age credits as specified in the Washington state guidelines for determining related degree and approved credits, or twenty college credits and one hundred clock hours of related community training.

  • Experience with children in summer day camps or overnight camp.

  • Non-profit fund-raising or related experience.
