Job Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring continuity of program outreach and services while providing administrative oversight and support to outdoor leadership programs and volunteerism.

Responsibilities

  1. Support existing and continue expansion of programs and partnerships within the community in accordance with the Association and Branch strategic plans related to family support.

  2. Monitor enrollments, cancellations, wait lists and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program(s).

  3. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, schools and agencies related to family support programs.

  4. Coordinates the program registration process, including answering the telephone and responding to inquiries from families, volunteers, and the public.

  5. Performs computer input for program registration and correspondence, including preparation of information packets and administration support.

  6. Assists with administration of financial assistance for participants.

  7. Ensures positive post registration and check-in process for families and participants.

  8. Coordinates branch volunteer engagement. Complies volunteer program statistics and provides data and reports as required.

  9. Works with Director of Volunteer Engagement to achieve desired results for program.

  10. Attend Volunteer Engagement related meetings as required.

  11. Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position, and workdays are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. During the summer months workdays will be Wednesday through Sunday and hours will vary.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant program or equivalent education or experience. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.

  • Two years or more of related experience, with proven experience in customer service.

  • Experience with and knowledge of youth behavior management and child abuse prevention.

  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to visit sites and community organizations.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).

  • Ability to speak any language in addition to English.
