YMCA of Greater Seattle Junior Business Analyst – BI Developer in Seattle, Washington

Overview

We are looking for a Junior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. In this role, you should have a background in data and business analysis. You should be analytical and an excellent communicator. If you also have a business acumen and problem-solving aptitude, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will enhance our business intelligence system to help us make better decisions.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Develops and deploys systems to support business intelligence, reporting, data warehouse, and integration with enterprise applications; implements user access controls and data security measures where appropriate

  2. Owns the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions

  3. Anticipates opportunities for improvement; outlines and identifies alternate solutions and presents to management for final approval and implementation

  4. Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing and re-executes unit tests to validate results

  5. Assists in the coordination efforts with management and end-users to evaluate the business to support delivery of effective business intelligence and reporting solutions

  6. Develops and tests database scripts, stored procedures, triggers, functions, SSIS packages, and other back-end processes to support system integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) to facilitate the creation and population of the Enterprise Data Warehouse

  7. Assists with tabular and multi-dimensional modeling in addition to development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse

  8. Designs and develops interactive dashboards and reports. Creates and maintains documentation of processes, reports, applications, and procedures as per department policy

  9. Develop and update technical documentation

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience preferred but not required.

  • Prior experience with Data Warehousing (Kimball and other methodologies)

  • 3+ years working with an OLAP database (SQL Server preferred)

  • 3+ years working with SSIS, SSAS and SSRS or similar tools

  • 3+ years working with various Business Intelligence tools (Microsoft Power BI)

  • Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative

  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to work in a cross functional team environment.
