Job Summary

This role administers the YMCA of Greater Seattle’s leave and accommodation program. This position coordinates and advocates with employees, management, vendors, agencies and other YMCA team members. This includes performing research and analysis of leave policies to ensure up to date regulations and compliance. This role coordinates all leave administration, tracking and concluding leave of absence instances.

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the subject matter expert for leaves and accommodations.

  2. Interpret leave and accommodation policies to facilitate administration, respond to questions, and solve complex problems.

  3. Act as the main point of contact for the leave of absence requests.

  4. Ensure leave policies are updated and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

  5. Counsel managers regarding leave of absence and accommodation programs.

  6. Works closely with employees to ensure that medical documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintains contact with employees on leave and supports all aspects of return to work from leave. Return to work programs may include light duty, specialized schedule and accommodations, collection of release documents.

  7. Interface with benefits team to coordinate benefit eligibility, transitions to COBRA and payment of premiums while on leave.

  8. Manage Workers Compensation program, coordinating claims with vendor, communicating with the employee and manager. Interface with vendor for return to work program and light duty job offers.

  9. Maintain confidential files, notice of leave documentation. Maintain up to date leave forms and resources on the company intranet, updating documents and information on a regular basis.

  10. Support expedited requests for urgent leaves as needed.

  11. Stay current on changing Federal and State regulations and legislation that may affect employee leave.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 2 years of Human Resource experience

  2. Minimum of 1 year of leaves management

  3. Familiarity with Title VII, ADA/ADAAA, PFML, FMLA, ADA Accommodations

  4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and HRIS databases

  5. Ability to create processes and streamline efficiency

  6. Strong written, verbal and customer service skills, and attention to detail

  7. Ability to work independently in a rapid-paced team environment

  8. Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize

  9. An understanding and commitment to the Ys core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of leave administration experience for large size companies or non-profits

  • Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

Pay: $‎56,384 - $‎70,480.00/Yr.
