Job Summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks a dynamic, mission-driven District Director to support long-term strategy, drive quality, consistency and equity in administration area and nurture relationships with local key community stakeholders in District 2 (Bellevue, Snoqualmie, Sammamish, Meredith Mathews). The District Director will provide program expertise, multi-site leadership and a high level of staff development acumen to ensure a best in class administration experience within their respective district’s branches. The District Director will work with the District Executive, Branch Executives, Membership Center of Excellence (COE), fellow District Directors and Business Administrators/Directors to collaboratively lead the district’s strategy and vision both internally and externally, as set by Senior Leadership. In close partnership with the highly collaborative YMCA of Greater Seattle leadership, the District Director is expected to build upon the organization’s success, constructing and fulfilling all assigned financial and operational goals and objectives. We are seeking a proven leader who can direct and support change management with ease. The District Director will be comfortable motivating, communicating, and influencing in a multitude of environments with a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises assigned Admin Business Administrator/Director in respective home branch and is the dotted line supervisor of the Business Administrators/Directors in the 3-4 other branches within a district. Provides leadership and direction by coaching and providing overall direction, performance management, and development to staff.

  • In partnership with Centers of Excellence, District Executive and Branch Executives within a district, support the operational growth of a District through growth and member experience including program expansion.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert and thought leader in the area of administration at the district level as well as association-wide.

  • Supports program delivery of Association-wide strategy within a district to assure high quality results, which support district and association mission, goals and strategies.

  • Train, evaluate, and manage staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Grow and develop staff potential.

  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are in compliance with YMCA standards and all regulations and applicable standards.

  • Play a significant role in financial development within designated home branch.

  • Play a support role in board development within designated home branch.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in program area or related field or equivalent education/experience.

  • 5 years of leadership experience leading teams in designated functional area (Administration).

  • Broad knowledge of membership acquisition and retention best practices.

  • Comfort navigating electronic reporting and tracking systems

  • Certified in CPR and First Aid.

  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

  • District Directors are required to have personal cell phone.

  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).

  • Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop a strategy and implement through change management.

Starting pay rate: $71,000
