Job Summary

In this role, you will provide general office, administrative and customer service support to our Summer Overnight Camps (Camp Orkila & Camp Colman), and Outdoor Leadership (BOLD & GOLD) expedition programs.

The days spent in the office are focused on phone support and extensive data entry on our more than 6,000 summer participants! Your duties may include entering and/or reviewing the health and safety information for each participant in our database, camper file maintenance, answering phone calls and responding to parent questions/requests, calling parents regarding missing forms or balances due, stuffing envelopes for mailing, organizing and auditing files to send to camp with each new group of campers, cataloging lost and found items, archiving forms at the end of the season and providing general administrative support as needed for our office.

During the months of July and August, office team members also assist with checking campers in at our bus locations in Shoreline and SeaTac. These check-ins typically fall on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (depending on the sessions running) and are generally all hands on deck. The remainder of your 40 hours work week will be worked within the normal Monday-Friday 8am- 5pm business hours.

Due to the volume of campers we serve, this position requires a high degree of organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. You will be a vital part of our summer operations!


  1. Performs various office duties, including using a personal computer to produce documents.

  2. Maintains assigned files. Sets up files as assigned.

  3. Inputs data to computer system as instructed.

  4. Assists members, callers, and others with questions about YMCA programs

  5. May prepare mail, photocopy, answer the telephone, and/or perform various record-keeping related duties.

  6. Attends staff meetings and training programs as required.


  1. Current state approved first aid certification, as required

  2. Current state approved CPR certification, as required

  3. Six months or more related experience or training preferred.

  4. Some knowledge of computers, including word processing software, helpful.

  5. Ability to maintain alpha-numeric files helpful.

  6. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
