Where you’ll work…
You’ll be based out of one off the branches that offers programs ranging from health and wellness, to family programs, to child care, to aquatics (access is a staff benefit - swim a few laps before work, take a yoga class, do some laps on the track before you go home, if you like!). SpecificallytheSeattle Y offers programsthroughout the greater Seattle area, requiring transport of participants to the programs located in community parks, schools and other community buildings.
The Seattle Y offers a competitive pay range and part time or full time benefit packages, as eligible.

What you’ll be doing…
Every day hundreds of children participate in fun and engaging YMCA programs.Be part of an amazing team of staff focused on teaching teamwork and social skills, and support children as they grow and learn.
Transports children to and from program activities and site(s).
Makes daily safety inspections of vehicle.
Reports to supervisor any conditions on vehicle in need attention or correction.
Oversees conduct of children on vehicle.
Follows all driver guidelines and standards.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
May supervise a group of program participants.
Who are you?
If you're the right candidate for the job, you are excited to spend your days impacting the lives of children. You are comfortable with individual and groups of children, can talk to and partner with parents and other adults.
You are 22 years of age or older and should have:
- Current state approved first aid certification.
- Current state approved CPR certification.
- TB test by the Mantoux method.**
- HIV/AIDS training certification.
- Current Washington State Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with class B Passenger endorsement and Air Brake Restrictions Removed for 66-passenger buses.
Driving record which meets or exceeds YMCA standards.
Four years or more general driving experience, with bus driving experience preferred.
Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
