YMCA of Greater Seattle Bus Driver in Auburn, Washington

Overview

GENERAL FUNCTION

Transports children in a youth program to and from program activities and site(s).

Responsibilities

  1. Transports children to and from program activities and site(s).

  2. Makes daily safety inspections of vehicle.

  3. Reports to supervisor any conditions on vehicle in need attention or correction.

  4. Oversees conduct of children on vehicle.

  5. Follows all driver guidelines and standards.

  6. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.

  7. May supervise a group of program participants.

Qualifications

  1. 22 years of age or older.

  2. Current state approved first aid certification.

    1. Current state approved CPR certification.
    1. TB test by the Mantoux method.**
  1. HIV/AIDS training certification.
    1. Current Washington State Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with class B Passenger endorsement and Air Brake Restrictions Removed for 66-passenger buses.
  1. Driving record which meets or exceeds YMCA standards.

  2. Four years or more general driving experience, with bus driving experience preferred.

  3. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

  • At hire or earliest possible training.
