Where you’ll work…
You’ll be based out of the Matt Griffin Family YMCA, a facility that offers programs ranging from health and wellness, to family programs, to child care, to aquatics (access is a staff benefit - swim a few laps before work, take a yoga class, do some laps on the track before you go home if you like!).

What you’ll be doing…
As the Community Learning Center (CLC) Program Instructor you will be part of a team that develops and implements engaging enrichment activities for groups of students in grades 1st through 6th at Madrona Elementary in Sea Tac WA.
You will lead Small Group classes consisting of enrichment activities that focus on relationship building, leadership and fun.
Assisting in the development and implementation of appropriate enrichment classes for assigned grade levels.
Preparing classrooms for daily activities and collaborating with CLC team to ensure that objectives are reached.
Adhering to all YMCA and HSD school district professional expectations and compliance issues.
Creating a positive, achievement-oriented, organized and engaging learning environment.
Communicates with, develops, and maintains positive relationships with youth and families.
Provides day-to-day leadership to staff and volunteers.
Who are you?
If you're the right candidate for the job, you love working with and mentoring new staff and areexcited to spend your time impacting the lives of youth and their families. You have the ability to build strong relationships on an individual level. You have a track record of being able todevelop and implement quality programming and know how to provide support and a sense of belonging to others in order to generate a program that is successful and enriching for all involved. Lastly, you will thrive working with ethnically, racially, and culturally diverse communities while keeping inclusion and equity as a lens through which you see your work.
You should be 18 years of age and have:
Current state approved first-aid certification. *
Current state approved community CPR certification. *
Experience in working with youth the same age as those to be supervised.
One year of experience or more in program planning preferred.
Knowledge of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate practices.
Knowledge of Seattle School District Academic Learning Standards for the age group and designated subject area.
Knowledge of core curriculum components of assigned school.
